BDDC reiterates demand for Bhandari district

Bhandari District Demand Committee (BDDC) along with various civil society organizations of the Lotha Lower Range reiterated its demand to upgrade Bhandari ADC Hq to that of district status.

During the meeting held on Saturday at DBSS Hall, Bhandari, BDDC convenor, W. Yingashumo Kithan and general secretary Chenithung Humtsoe said the house unanimously resolved to urged the state government to consider the demand at the earliest for an inclusive development and prosperity in the area.

As one of the oldest sub-divisions, BDDC said Bhandari had been economically backward for years.

It may be recalled that the committee had submitted a memorandum to the state government after obtaining NOC from the apex Lotha Hoho and recommendation of the Wokha District Planning and Developmental Board (DPDB) for upgradation.
