Children trained on doormat making in Kohima

Two-day workshop on doormat making was organised for students and children with special needs on September 22-23 by North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC), Ministry of Culture, government of India in collaboration with department of Art & Culture, Nagaland and Cherry Blossoms Society, Kohima.

A press release by Cherry Blossoms Society, Kohima stated that students from four schools namely Cherry Blossoms School, Jo Foundation, Tabitha Enabling Academy and Government Middle School (GMS)Aradura along with two teachers and eight children with special needs attended the training under the guidance of Seli Tucker, Naomi Domeh and Purnima Kayina.

In the closing ceremony, special guest, deputy director of art and culture, Lampha Konyak said such training was essential for an individual to earn livelihood.

The children pronounced the Lord’s prayer both verbally and in sign language which was followed by dance, singing and cerography by every participating schools.
