In commemoration of 75th years of India’s Independence, an awareness programme on Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), Tuberculosis (TB) and blood donation was held Friday at Sakus Mission College (SMC) Dimapur.
A press release by the college informed that the awareness programme was organised by Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) under the aegis of National AIDS Control Organisation, ministry of health and family welfare, government of India in collaboration with Red Ribbon Club of SMC.
At the programme, district programme officer, Mecievinuo Zhotso, senior TB lab supervisor (district Tuberculosis centre) Kekuoseno Peseyie and ICTC supervisor, Orenthung spoke on misconceptions and stigma on a person having HIV, causes and cure of Tuberculosis and the importance of Blood donation respectively.
The programme started with a prayer by SMC chaplain Amenla Aier.
