Legal awareness programme on ‘women & health’ in Kiphire

Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) supported by National Commission for Women (NCW) and in coordination with Akehda Sangtamlarü Thsingmüjang (AST) organised a seminar on legal awareness programme on “women and health” on September 24 at Kiphire town.

In a press release, NSCW secretary Bodeno S. Colo informed that during the seminar, resource persons senior medical officer Dr. Tiakala Walling spoke extensively on “women and health” while advocate Hotingkyu Sangtam elaborated on “legal services to mentally ill and mentally disabled persons with reference to women”.

The programme was chaired by NSCW member W. Nginyeih Konyak and NSCW member Chongliu gave the introductory remark.

Earlier, the NSCW team also visited Sakhi–One Stop Centre, District Hospital Kiphire, District Jail Kiphire and Women Police Station, Kiphire as part of its annual activities to interact and assess the liveability, safety and protection of women inmates.
