Organisations flay killing of ex-ZB (AMN) president

Zeliangrong Youth Front (N) has strongly condemned and expressed shocked over the killing of a trusted leader, Athuan Abonmai, advisor to Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) and former president of Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) on September 22.

In a press note, Zeliang and general secretary Mathiusin Pamei asid Abonmai stood uprightly for the Zeliangrong community in particular and Nagas in general and was a man of integrity, outspoken, straight forward. It expressed regret that “his mortality is manifested inhumanly, but the entire populace of Zeliangrong community will remember this day that one of our tallest leader had laid down his life for the cause of the people.”

ZYF (N) said it will leave no stone unturned to unfold the truth. “We pledge allegiance that we will never cow down to such anti social elements who are trying to portray themselves as heroes after committing the most heinous crime having no values for human life,” ZYF (N) stated.

ZYF (N) further conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that Almighty God grant them comfort at these time of grief and challenging moments.

Lastly, ZYF (N) also appealed to all the right thinking citizens to condemn such unlawful, inhumane, cowardly act of the perpetrators. it further urged government of India to initiate impartial  National Investigation Agency investigation and book the culprit as per the law of the land at the earliest.

ZCNEI: Zeme Council North East India (ZCNEI) also expressed shock over the abduction and subsequent killing of Athuan Abonmai former president Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) by armed miscreants in a high security zone at an event where Manipur chief minister was attending.

ZCNEI president Raitu Elu and vice president Rangom Hau said the council strongly condemned the inhuman and gruesome murder, which was unthinkable in a modern and civilized society and ought to be condemned by all right thinking citizen. The council also questioned the Manipur government for the security lapse during the VVIP program. 

The council urged Manipur government to leave no stone unturned and bring the perpetrators to book and award befitting punishment. It also support the demands of Joint Action Committee (JAC) to deliver justice to the victim’s family.

Further, the council conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
