Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has informed that the three tribes– Aos, Lothas and the Sumis– would not participate in any activities of the Dimapur Tribal Hoho Forum and would not associate with new group in any manner whatsoever.
In a press note, CNTC affirmed to stand firmly with the Naga Council Dimapur, which it said was is the oldest organisation of Dimapur. CNTC also said any group that “plays to disturb the unity” of NCD and the Dimapur citizens would not be entertained.
On foothill road project, CNTC reiterated full support for Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee and foothill road construction till it was completed. CNTC was optimistic that the state government would abide by its assurance so the project was completed on time and benefit the people of the state.
On Naga political issue, the CNTC said it “fully supports” the stand of the 14 tribes, adding that the political settlement should be arrived at the earliest. “With the Naga talks dragging on for decades, multiple taxation by various groups has only burdened the people heavily,” CNTC said. It said that people now want to “end all bloodshed in any form and live peacefully free from all fears.”
