
A two-day basic training on skill development under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) support activity was organised by Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Mon on November 25-26 at EE PHED Mon division office.
The department informed that the main objective of the training was to impart basic skill development to ensure sustainability of water supply infrastructure.
In the introductory session, keynote address was delivered by district coordinator, DWSM Mon, Medoseto Kiso who emphasised on the vital role of WATSAN committee along with villagers for long-term operation and maintenance of the project.
Kezhalaeo Thenuo spoke on sustainability of JJM scheme through inter-personal communication.
The introductory session was followed by a practical session where electrification, plumbing, welding and masonry techniques were imparted. Altogether 64 participants including WATSAN committee members, village heads from 21 villages where JJM scheme was currently under implementation at Mon district attended the training.
