Shifting of DC’s office: Dimapur CSOs call for ‘shutter down’ on Sept 30

Dimapur-based civil society organisations (CSOs) have called for a total “shutter down” on September 30, 2021 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. to show their resentment against the recent government order to shift branches/cells to new deputy commissioner’s office complex, Chumukedima.

Informing this in a press note, Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) said that medical dealers and pharmacies would, however, be exempted from the purview of shutter-down call.

Further, the forum informed that all the Dimapur-based CSOs would be submitting an ultimatum to the chief minister through deputy commissioner (DC) Dimapur on September 29 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

It has, therefore, requested all the responsible members of the affiliated tribal and non-tribal communities to gather at the Dimapur DC office junction by 9 a.m.

As published on September 28, the state government had asked DC Dimapur to immediately shift the District Election Office and Disaster Management cell.

Besides shifting of DEO office and DM cell, principal secretary Home Abhijit Sinha in a letter had also asked the DC to make necessary arrangements for shifting of other branches at an early date.

Sinha said that the two newly posted officials at new DC complex, Chümoukedima — ADC Dimapur and EAC Dimapur, will supervise the process.
