NE zone inter CAPFs debate on human rights held

Northeast zone inter Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) virtual debate on human rights was held on September 27 at Assam Rifles Training Centre and School (ARTC&S) 3rd Mile Dimapur and partook by six CAPFs.

A press release by ARTC&S stated that the main objective of the debate was to sensitise the importance of strict adherence to human rights while dealing with the public. 

Brigadier Suresh Sheoran, YSM, SM, commandant, ARTC & S appreciated the efforts put in by the participants and made a special reference to the efficient conduct of the event by the organisers. He also conveyed good wishes to winning teams for semi-finals and final round of debate competitions to be on October.

Six teams for northeast based CAPFs namely BSF, CRPF, CISF, SSB, ITBP and Assam Rifles participated in the contest. DIG Nagaland Police, Vikas; Senior scientific consultant to wild life conservation society, Bano Haralu and regional director, Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Dimapur Dr Chandra Shekhar Chaube were the jury members of the event.

A total of 24 speakers debated on the topic in Hindi and English with 12 speakers each ‘for’ and ‘against’ the motion. The best teams in both the English and Hindi categories namely Assam Rifles and BSF as well as CRPF have been selected to represent the northeast zone in the semi-finals of inter-CAPF debate competition scheduled to be held in the month of October 2021.
