
Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Kohima region held a consultative meeting advisor for Urban Development and Municipal Affairs Dr Neikiesalie Nicky Kire at its office, Bayavü Hill Kohima.
A press release by NDPP Kohima region stated that at the meeting, Dr. Nicky encouraged the party leaders and workers to remain steadfast to the party.
He also assured of all possible support to the Kohima region and its frontal organisations and urged them not to be superficial but to have a cohesive relationship for the welfare of the party in general. Dr. Nicky also stressed on developing oneness and understanding for a stronger party and called upon the party members to start preparing for 2021 state general elections.
NDPP central general secretary and in-charge of Kohima region, Prasielie Pienyü said as a new political party in the state, NDPP was working towards a cadre-based party to have a strong party base through mobilization, motivation and political training.
NDDP Kohima region president Avio Tetseo said marred with the COVID-19 pandemic not much activities could be done during the two years. However, with 2023 election fast approaching he said party workers have to work hard to win all the seats under Kohima region.
Kohima region women organization president Kekhrienuo Meyase and youth organization president M Patrick Kuotsu also delivered short speeches.
NDPP Kohima region working president Keduolhoulie Huozha led the discussion hour and also presented the five-point resolutions which were adopted unanimously.
During the meeting, the house resolved to continue the region’s support to the leadership of chief minister Neiphiu Rio and party president Chingwang Konyak; to endorse and welcome the formation of the opposition less UDA government; to tour all the six assembly constituencies under Kohima region.
The meeting also resolved to vigorously pursue the party enrolment drive, keeping the door open for likeminded people willing to join the NDPP party from any other political party and to work hard for the election of party candidate from all the six constituencies under Kohima region in the next general election.
Earlier, NDPP Kohima Region vice president Neibolhoulie Yhome chaired the consultative meeting.
