
Chief medical officer (CMO) office Mokokchung, organised a training on Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) application for Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANMs) and observed “World Heart Day” on September.
A press release from the CMO Mokokchung office informed that the training on NCD application was conducted at CMO Conference Hall Mokokchung and was organised by NPCDCS, NHM Directorate of Health and Family Welfare with technical support from TATA Trusts.
The release stated that the training aimed to enumerate all individuals from 30 years and above for hypertension, diabetes, oral cancer, cervical cancer and breast cancer and provide assistance in tablet usage for uploading data on non-communicable disease enrolment and screening.
At the training, joint director and SPO NPCDCS Dr. Mereninla Senlem presented an overview on national programme for prevention and control of cancer, diabetes, cardio vascular diseases and stroke. She urged the trainees to increase NCD enrolment in their respective health units.
The resource person for the training was Vitsiatho Nyuwi (TATA Trusts SPO). The team was accompanied by MO (NCD) Dr. Ebenezer Phesao and State NCD cell staff from Directorate of Health & Family Welfare.
Meanwhile, CMO office Mokokchung also observed WHD on September 29 by creating awareness of Cardio Vascular diseases (CVDs).
The day was observed at Jubilee Memorial Higher Secondary School, Edith Douglas Higher Secondary School, Town higher Secondary School and Mayangnokcha Higher Secondary School.
On the occasion students took pledge for a healthy heart and IEC materials on cardio vascular disease and nutrition were distributed with an aim to educate the students based on prevention of cardio vascular diseases and adopting healthy lifestyles.
