Social welfare department organised culmination programmes of the month-long Poshan Maah 2021 activities under the theme, “converging towards a healthy walk through life” on September 30 across the state.
Chukitong: Poshan Maah 2021, under Chukitong Block Wokha culminated on Thursday, here at CDPO community hall.
During the nutrition month, ICDS Chukitong block under department of social welfare along with NRLM, administration and medical department conducted various activities such as anemia screening, essay writing and slogan writing, cooking competition and plantation drives.
A brief closing programme was organised which was attended by AWWs, SHGs and ASHAs under Chukitong block attended.
EAC Chukitong, Echungbemo Erui addressed the gathering on the importance of nutrition for children and encouraged AWWs and ASHAs to work towards achieving a healthy society.
Also speaking on the occasion, MO PHC Chukitong Dr. Abenthung Murry encouraged the gathering to adopt and promote COVID appropriate behaviour.
Prizes were distributed by CDPO ICDS Chukitong to all the winners.

Mon: Closing programme of Poshan Maah 2021 was held in Mon with project director, DRDA Mon, M. Temjen Longchar as special guest.
According to a DIPR report, Longchar stated that over10 years of his posting, he observed a transformation in the living conditions and societal status of people in the district which was a result of the joint efforts of convergent departments in programmes like Poshan Maah.
He expressed appreciation to all convergent departments in successfully concluding the campaign and emerging above other districts holding the second position in the state.
Activities under Poshan Maah 2021 was presented by district coordinator, Poshan, Nokyam Khoiyem where he highlighted that there were over 1,65,000 participants with over 6000 activities held across the district pushing Mon district in the second overall performance in the state.
Field experiences were shared by block coordinator, Tizit, Keiom and Anganwadi Worker, K. Ngipnon.
The programme was chaired by district project assistant, Poshan, Wangton while DPO, ICDS Mon, Y. Tauhong Ngonyen proposed vote of thanks. Prizes were also distributed to winners of various activities conducted under Mon block.
Jalukie: Jalukie ICDS project organised the block level closing programme of Poshan Maah 2021 at CDPO office, Jalukie.
In a short speech, CDPO Jalukie, Namhuheing encouraged Anganwadi workers and helpers to continue playing an active role to raise an awareness on health and nutrition.
During the programme, CDPO Jalukie presented prizes of best performing Anganwadi Centres and village where Mhainamtsi Centre ‘E’, Jalukie town Centre ‘E’ and Samziuram Centre ‘C’ bagged the best performing Anganwadi Centres while Gaili Village and Heningkunglwa Village bagged the best performance village award.
The programme was chaired by SAA, Lily Yepthomi while supervisor, Kalivi Zhimomi highlighted activities and vote of thanks was proposed by supervisor, Meyie Kronu.
Ghathashi: Ghathashi ICDS celebrated the closing programme at Ghathashi town hall.
A brief report on the month-long activities was given by block coordinator Poshan Abhiyaan, Vikito and EAC Ghathashi, Nitile Tep gave a message on healthy eating habits.
The programme also witnessed exhibition of nutritious food crops along with cooking competition. Winners were awarded with cash prizes.
The programme was chaired by supervisor, Mghatovi, while keynote address was delivered by CDPO Ghathashi, R. Chirhotshu Nyusou and vote of thanks was proposed by block project assistant Poshan Abhiyaan, Yekashe.
