A programme on convergence-cum- Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA) gratitude day 2021 was held on September 30 in Kohima.
Speaking at the programme, advisor of NSDMA, Kazheto Kinimi highlighted the role of NSDMA in disaster management activities and in providing yeomen services to families affected by natural calamity and other disasters in the state.
He stated that NSDMA had become a vital part in the governance of the state and informed the officials and members present to keep track of the activities, programs and policies of the state government.
He also reminded them that the idea of having the convergence was to come together with a vision to further strengthen the activities of NSDMA.
The advisor appreciated the role of NSDMA in rendering their extraordinary services for the past two years and called for continued efforts and cooperation in order to contain the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
He recalled how the state government along with various agencies including NSDMA and district task forces had been working hand in hand on war-footing in the containment and management of the COVID-19 cases.
At the meeting, review on the vision path of NSDMA was presented by joint chief executive officer, NSDMA, Johnny Ruangmei.
Earlier, opening remarks was delivered by secretary NSDMA, Lhouchalie Viya and invocation by consultant NSDMA, Kevingulie Kiewhuo.
