Kitsubozou Panchayat Kohima celebrated its 51st Panchayat Day in the panchayat hall on October 2.
Speaking on the occasion, Kitsubozou Panchayat Chairman Vimhalie Pienyü called on the officials of panchayat and frontal organisations including women and youth bodies to have cordial relationship and work cohesively for the welfare of the colony and ward.
Vimhalie expressed gratitude to the pioneers and former leaders for their sacrifices towards the welfare of the colony.
Kitsubozou Panchayat general secretary Aziebu Theyo presented the activities of the panchayat since October 2020 while treasurer report was laid by Neilie Aacha and constitution committee report by convener Dr Asalie Khezhie.
Reports of various committees including Anganwadi, health, education, sanitation and audit were also presented by respective bodies.
Kitsubozou Gaon Burah Vituozo Kire, women organisation president Vevosalü Terhase and youth president Ruokuozolie Pienyü also exhorted the gathering.
New colony GB Medochülie Khezhie was felicitated and farewell of outgoing GB Thepfuzielie Rutsa was also held.
Advisor Medo Yhokha inaugurates Capi Krotho building
Advisor for technical education and election, Medo Yhokha today inaugurated the Capi Krotho Dzevi Ki (welfare building) at Kitsubozou colony, Kohima.
The building would have a mini library with customary laws and traditional and cultural artifacts of the Angamis from the four regions – Northern, Southern, Western and Chakhro which would be documented and preserved in the library.
Speaking on the occasion, Medo Yhokha while pointing out that the rich culture and tradition practiced by forefathers was slowly being forgotten also stressed on the need to preserve it and pass on to the younger generation.
He hoped that the efforts of Capi Krotho would be a boon for the future generation and help not only the youngsters but researchers and scholars in understanding the Angami tradition.
Meanwhile, NPF MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro in his brief address assured to extend support in their cause.
Visesie Pier delivered the presidential address while Medongulie Rutsa chaired the programme which commenced with prayer by Kedolie Vithuo. Neisazhünuo Rutsa presented a folk tune while Capi Krotho treasurer Keneizezo Yiese presented the building construction report and Khrunyü Rino proposed vote of thanks.
It may be mentioned that Capi Krotho is an association of the retired Dobashis (DBs) of the Angami community.
51st Midland Panchayat Day: 51st Midland Panchayat Day was observed today at panchayat hall, Midland, Kohima on October 2.
Exhorting the gathering, former chairman Keduozolie Nihu Kera encouraged the residents of the colony to work in unison for the welfare and common interest of the colony.
Midland Panchayat general secretary T. Toso Thapru highlighted the various activities and events conducted within the colony while welcome address was delivered by midland panchayat vice chairman Ngulho Mepfii-o. School management committee and sanitation committee reports have were shared.
