Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA, along with CE (R&B) additional CE, SE, EE and other officers surveyed Sithogei (Kohima-Dimapur NH-29) to IG stadium (Wokha road) bypass road on October 4.
After the survey, chief engineer (R&B) Kahuli Sema while speaking at a small gathering with leaders and elders from T Khel council and Houriitsumia council (L Khel) Kohima village said that the road which was not pliable at the moment was important and would help ease traffic congestion in the capital town if upgraded and properly maintained.
EE (R&B south division) Vizoto Seletsu who highlighted the project said the project was taken up under the erstwhile SPA scheme but could not be brought to a satisfactory conclusion till today Vizoto said that the road if completed would ease traffic in Kohima town by at least 15% by diverting the vehicles which are headed to NH-61 or Wokha road without being made to enter Kohima town.
Meanwhile, Khriehu Liezietsu suggested that the road be repaired and made pliable at the earliest. He also said that he would discuss the matter with higher authorities as it would not only ease traffic but also help in expansion of Kohima town.
