Hortiscape, Agri Pavilion inaugurated

State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio on Wednesday inaugurated the Hortiscape and Agri Pavilion at Hornbill Festival 2021, Kisama.

According to a DIPR report, a state level flower show-cum-competition was also organised by the department of horticulture.

The flower competition is being held in various categories. Under ferns & foliage category, the first prize was bagged by Kehosale, Aheli Zhimomi, Kehosale won the second prize and Martha won the third prize.

Under cacti & succulents category, Suohienuo Keyho won the first prize, Peleno won the second prize and Egu Pienyii won the third prize.

Meanwhile under the indigenous foliage & flowers category, Kokono and Dzieseneino Nakhro won consolation prizes while under the bulbs & tubers category, Rokovino Zhasa won the first prize, Kikruhenuo Solo won the second prize and Kerineiu Nakhro won the third prize.

Later under the orchids (indigenous) category, Kevi Pienyii won the first prize, Aienla Ozukum won the second prize and third prize went to Vesapralii Vasa.

Under orchids (hybrid) category, Meyieno Chuse won the first prize, Azeno Zashiimo won the second prize and Aphrenuo won the third prize while under bonsai category, Dr. Vizovol Mekro won the first prize, Letso Mekro won the second prize and Anei Usou won the third prize.

In perennial category, N. Asangla won the first prize, Avono won the second prize and Temsuyangla Pongen won the third prize.

Under the annuals & biennials category, Aphrenuo won the first prize, Khrienuo Solo won the second prize and Kekhrieneinuo won the third prize. Under flower arrangements (fresh), Vilerei won the first prize, Sabino won the second prize and Kikruhenuo won the third prize. 

Fruits and vegetables such as oranges, pineapples, bananas, kiwi, ginger, mushroom, etc., from various districts of the state would be available for sale at the Hortiscape from December 1-10.

Some of the entrepreneurs who are selling their agri products this year are Kerhung SHG Farm, Naturally Nagaland Food & Craft, Oakland Organic Agri & Allied Cooperative Society Ltd, Entrepreneurs Associates, Chansu Organic Kiwi Producer Company Ltd, Green Accent, Cold Mountains, Charity Club Multipurpose Society Wokha.

The Hortiscape showcases varieties of greens, succulents, cactus, orchids, flower and pine saplings from floriculturists in the state and Sikkim.
