Nagaland University vice chancellor, professor Pardeshi Lal has directed resumption of offline campus academic activities for Lumami.
According to a DIPR report, a meeting was held on September 27 with vice chancellor, registrar, deans of schools, dean of students’ welfare, heads of departments and wardens.
During the meeting, it was decided that: all members of the faculty should be available in the departments from October 1; 3rd semester students should arrive at the campus/hostels during October 15 and 16; offline classes for 3rd semester students would begin from October 18; arrival of 1st semester students to the campus would begin on November 1 after allotment of hostel seats.
The meeting decided that students arriving at the campus should possess negative test report for COVID-19 (rapid antigen test done 48 hours before arrival or RT-PCR test done 72 hours before arrival); if any students develops any symptom of COVID-19 after arrival in the campus, he/she should immediately report the matter to the hostel warden/head of the department concerned/dean of students’ welfare; the university administration would temporarily earmark a building for isolating any having COVID-19 symptoms.
The university centre would arrange preliminary health check-up of all students arriving; thermal scanning facility would be provided in all academic departments; all students and faculty should ensure mandatory compliance of COVID appropriate behaviour; SOPs and COVID appropriate behaviour issued by the centre and the state government from time to time would be implemented with strict compliance.
