BSI Dmu organises seminar

Bible Society of India (BSI) Dimapur Town Branch on October 8 organised a seminar with pastors of Dimapur Town Churches at Town Baptist Church, Dimapur. 

A press release by BSI Dimapur stated that president BSI Dimapur Auxiliary, Rev. Dr. N. Paphino shared the importance of the participation of the churches in the ministry of BSI and termed BSI as a non-denominational and non-profitable organization. 

Stating that BSI spends Rs. 500 to print a Bible and sells it to churches by Rs. 230, he said this was made possible with the contribution of the churches and individuals.

Auxiliary secretary, Rev. Dr. Yiepetso Wezah shared on the significance of the ministry of Bible Society, saying that BSI was engaged in translation, production and distribution of God’s Word. Quoting government of India’s data, Rev. Wezah said there are 1,652 languages spoken in India out of which BSI has brought out only 74 full Bibles, additional 92 New Testament and 81 languages are in the process of translations. 

He said that the Word of God could be heard by every nation and tribe with the support of the churches and that it was one of the most important mission societies of the churches. 

Treasurer of the branch, Nini Sekhose welcomed the pastors and stated that Christians are becoming a minority in Dimapur city, which she said was a big challenge for Bible Society and Churches. 

During interaction, pastors commented that all the churches should participate in the ministry of BSI.

The seminar was moderated by president, BSI Dimapur Town branch, Zakie Terhuja, secretary, Tali Meren proposed the vote of thanks and the seminar concluded with mass spoken prayer.
