Temperature in the State Capital plummeted to a new low on Saturday, marking the first drastic drop for the month. While the beginning of December saw a variation between 30°C and 29°C till the December 10, there was a drop of 7°C on Saturday.
The decrease in temperature was the first significant drop for the month with further descend forecasted towards the end of the month. Temperature at night dropped a whopping 10 points from 17°C on Friday to 7 °C on Saturday.
Of course, these will not be lowest as the last week of the month has colder days in store with temperature during the day to remain 18°C and night to 5°C, just above freezing point.
Apart from the rain that caused the upset in temperature on December 7 and 8, more rains in the fourth week of the month would be the main contributor to the almost freezing temperatures in the last week of the month.
For 2020, the lowest temperature recorded during day time was 23°C, while night recorded 10°C for the entire month of December. Comparatively, the drop in 5°C for both day and night this year is a new record in itself as the average temperature for the month in the last 10 years is 24°C during the day and 11°C at night.
