CPO appeals for repeal of AFSPA

The Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) during its general body meeting at Zapami Village on December 10 condemned the Oting massacre on December 4 where lives “fell victim under the guise of AFSPA”.

In a press release, CPO president Mikha Kenye and general secretary Veduvo Rhakho informed that in this regard, the house strongly felt that AFSPA be repealed at the earliest and “allow one life to live in full without fear”. 

Warns not hamper 2-lane road project 

In the meeting, the house also seriously viewed the ongoing 2-lane road project under Chakhesang jurisdiction and resolved that any unauthorised elements in the form of individual, groups, village or town “trying to disturb or hamper the project” without valid reason would be “dealt with all seriousness”. 

The house also urged the competent authorities to be more proactive. 

Earlier during the meeting, speeches were also delivered by former NLA speaker Z. Lohe and executive secretary CBCC and former state chaplain, Rev. K. Lürüo.
