
Shalom Public School Chümoukedima held its 9th annual day on December 15 on the theme “moulding a star” with EAC Chümoukedima, Seyiekhrietuo Solo as chief guest.
A press release from the school informed that during the programme, Seyiekhrietuo emphasised on the impact of teachers’ role in students’ life as there were numerous graduates who were unemployable because they lacked skills.
He encouraged the gathering to inculcate civic sense for a cleaner environment and advised the students to strive for excellence and become better human beings.
In her speech, director, Merenla Longchar also stressed on the role of parents and teachers in students’ life as they played vital roles in laying strong foundation during their upbringing.
The programme saw various performances from students including musical drama, a presentation of chorale from the school choir conducted by music teacher, R. Tali Longkumer.
The programme was chaired by Bambino Swu, Imsurenla Longkumer of grade VII said the invocation, welcome speech from headmaster, Mhondamo Lotha and closing prayer by Lerina Yim of grade VI.
