ANPWDFWA unit demands pending salary

All Nagaland PWD Field Workers Association (ANPWDFWA) Peren unit has demanded for the release of all pending salaries on or before December 20.

In a letter addressed to the NPWD engineer in chief, its president Kunam Hegeu and secretary Temsu Ao said that as per office memorandum of August 21, 2021, the verification was conducted at Peren headquarter on September 15-18, 2021.

According to the order, verification process as per the latest update of PIMS was to be completed within a period of one month however, the unit said that no concrete development was taken up so far.

Stating that they had been waiting for the salary for almost 20 months, the unit also reminded that it had been three months after verification of employees was conducted.

Some of the demands made by ANPWDFWA Peren unit included: employees under category B, C and D as per the verification be immediately published and salaries be released; that academic year of their children were coming to an end for which they had to clear dues and fees. It requested that their salaries and allowances be released immediately without any categorisation of labourers as verification process had been completed three months ago.

Therefore, it said that failing to release pending salaries on or before December 20, the unit would be “forced to welcome New Year with iron fist which may even lead to be violent” and that the department would be held responsible.
