State govt notifies creation of 3 new districts

Two days after the state cabinet approved creation of three new districts, the state government Monday notified the upgradation of Tseminyu sub-division and Niuland sub-division to full-fledged districts with immediate effect and the creation of Chumoukedima district with headquarters at Chumoukedima.

In a notification, state chief secretary J Alam stated that the jurisdiction of the Tseminyu district would comprise of the existing Tseminyu sub-division under Kohima district. In another notification, chief secretary stated that the jurisdiction of the Niuland district would comprise of the existing Niuland sub-division under Dimapur district.

In a separate notification, the chief secretary notified that the district of Chumoukedima would comprise of the existing administrative area of Medziphema sub-division under Dimapur district; existing administrative area of Dhansiripar sub-division under Dimapur district and administrative area of Seithekema EAC Circle, under Dimapur district covering villages and town such as Aoyim, Bade, Chekiye, Chumoukedima ‘A’, Chumoukedima town, Chumoukedima village, Diezephe, Diphupar ‘B’, Diphupar village, Ikishe, Khopanala, Khriezephe, Kirha, Murise, Naga United, Seitheke ‘A’, Seitheke ‘B’ (New), Seitheke ‘C’, Seitheke Old, Seluophe, Shokhuvi, Singrijan, Sodzulhou, Sovima, Tenyiphe-I, Tenyiphe-II, Thilixu, Toulazouma, Tsithrongse, Unity, Urra, Vidima, Virazouma, 5th Mile Model, 7th Mile Model, 7th Mile Village and Tir.

Meanwhile, state chief secretary J Alam, in a notification, stated that the state government has ordered the re-organisation of Dimapur district consequent upon the creation of Chumoukedima district, and up-gradation of Niuland sub-division to a full-fledged district.

The notification stated that Dimapur district would comprise of the existing Dimapur Sadar area and the town and villages earlier covered under Seithekema EAC Circle such as Aoyimti, Bamunpukhri A, Bamunpukhri B, Darogajan, Darogapathar, Doshehe, Dubagaon, East Dimapur Town, Ekhyoyan (erstwhile Domokhia), Ekranipathar, Eralibil, Khusiabil, L Hotovi, Padumpukhri, Purana Bazar B, Samaguri, Shozukhu, Toluvi and Zani.
