
Christian Forum Dimapur (CFD) celebrated its second inter-faith advent Christmas at Bethesda celebration centre, central colony, Walford, here, on Monday.
The programme was attended by members of the Muslim, Hindu, Jain, Buddhist and Sikh communities.
During the programme, introduction to inter faith advent Christmas celebration was delivered by CFD secretary Dr Fr CP Anto who informed that the purpose of the day was to show that the people lived in peace and harmony with all religions.
He believed that religious leaders need to work together for the welfare and learn to live in unity, peace and harmony.
Fr. Anto also pointed out how Jesus does not discriminate for He was a unifying factor and in the same way, people need to experience this love.
He encouraged all to love, forgive, reconcile and make Dimapur a model place and example for others to follow.
Short messages were also delivered by members from various religious communities where they thanked CFD for making them feel at home.
They also said that the concept of coming together and celebrating festivals together should be promoted.
Short message was also delivered by reverend Rev. Dr. N Paphino.
Highlights of the programme included presentation of Christmas songs by Bethesda Assembly of God youth Carol team.
Later, vote of thanks was delivered by CFD information and secretary Ps Yanbemo Lotha and prayer was said by CFD joint secretary Rev. Vangpong Phom.
Earlier, invocation was said by CFD vice chairman Rev. Vitoshe Swu and welcome address was delivered by CFD chairman Rev. Moses Murry.
