Mangkolemba CSOs unlock PWD (R&B) office

Civil Society Organisations (CSO) Mangkolemba sub-division under Mokokchung district Wednesday said they have decided to “temporarily unlock” the office of the executive engineer, PWD (Road and Bridge) from December 20, 2021.

The office was kept locked by CSOs since November 1, 2021 over the demand for repair of 11km Longnak-Mangkolemba road stretch.

In a press release, CSOs convenor I Tia Jamir and secretary Wapongtoshi said the decision was taken after the meeting deliberated on the acceptance of the letter to the chief minister for allotting road repair fund by advisor national highways and treasuries and accounts, Dr Longrineken.

CSOs said the two legislators—Minister Imna Along Longkumer and Dr. Longrineken also requested for unlocking the office since the work proposal was currently in process. CSOs have, however, retreated that they would continue to press for demand until the objective was fulfilled.
