Gov prorogues NLA session

Nagaland Governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, has prorogued the 10th Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly at the conclusion of its sitting held on December 20. 

NLA secretariat, in a notification, stated that the prorogation order was issued by the Governor of Nagaland dated December 21, 2021, in exercise of the powers conferred by Clause (2) (a) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India.

During the one-day special session, the assembly unanimously adopted a five-point resolution demanding that the Centre revoke the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA), 1958, from the Northeast, specifically from Nagaland, so as to strengthen the ongoing efforts to find a peaceful settlement to the Naga political issue.
