St Francis Xavier Catholic church inaugurated at Kidima

St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Kidima the first established by Jesuits Mission among North East India was blessed by Most Reverend Dr James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima and formally inaugurated by Reverend Father Raymond D’ Souza SJ, Director of Eden Gardens Children’s Home, Khuzama, under the theme “My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations” (St Mark 11:17) with Bishop as Main Celebrant on December 5.

According to a press release, Bishop James Thoppil said that the Church was a symbol and closeness to God.

He urged upon the people to manifest Christ and to be better witnesses of Christ to the world.

Also speaking at the programme, Fr. Raymond D’Souza recalled 51 years of good news tour in Kidima and informed that the Church was constructed five times neither supervision by engineer nor architecture.

In this regard, he acknowledged various benefactors and the Almighty.

Earlier Fr Siby John, Parish Priest delivered the welcome address, Fr Raymond D’ Souza SJ pioneer missionary cut the ribbon of the new Church and declared the door opened.

Fr Tarci Beck SJ former Resident Priest unveiled Church name plate and the Lordship blessed the Church. 

The Eucharist celebration felicitation ceremony was followed by special number from the choir among other highlights of the programme.
