
With a total of 28 cases of theft registered and arrest of nine persons in the month of October 2021, theft topped the list of monthly crime report released by the Dimapur on Saturday.
As per the report, seven extortion cases were registered and 11 persons were arrested; two murder cases; two cases of kidnapping/abduction and five arrested; four cases of cheating and six arrested; three burglary cases and one arrested; three arrested in connection with incidence of rash driving; one case of cruelty by husband/relative and three arrested for two cases under other IPC.
Crimes under special law and local law included nine Arms Act cases (11 arrested), two NLTP Act (two arrested), four NDPS Act cases (six arrested), two Foreigners Act cases (four arrested) and one POCSO Act case. The seizure of contrabands in the month of October included 6899 bottles of IMFL, 500 grams of heroin, 130 grams of brown sugar, 19,000 tablets of ‘World is Yours’ and 6,723 capsules of SP.
The report also said that 16 extortion and arms cases were registered and 22 persons (16 UGs and six others) were arrested while the seizure included 21 arms, 211 ammunition, Rs.2,17,380 (suspected extortion money), three vehicles and two RT handsets.
