To mark the celebrations of “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” in commemoration 75 years of India’s independence, Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur, Dhansiripar block organized field day and kisangosthi-cum-seed distribution programme on October 29, at Vidima and Kiyeto villages.
In a press release from ATMA, BTM Moainla stated that winter vegetable seeds were distributed to two active groups namely Seidze and Kili CIGs. The members were taught on nursery bed preparation, sowing, transplanting, irrigation, nutrition and plant protection measures of various winter vegetable crops.
Besides, power point presentation on pest and disease identification and management practices was also highlighted to the participants. For better production of vegetables, farmers were encouraged to adopt crop rotation practices and planting/sowing at the right season and use of better varieties. The resource persons for the programme were AO(DAO) & BTT Convenor(ATMA Dhansiripar block), Arenjungla, ATMs Florence and Viketouzou, ATM.
Altogether, 22 women farmers participated in the programme.
