Department of School Education (DoSE) on October 29 organised a quiz competition on India’s independence movement and national unity “India Quiz” as part of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” which was funded by the Nagaland Education Project- The Lighthouse (NECTAR) at the Morung conference hall, DoSE.
In a press release, the department informed that the first prize with certificates was bagged by Ayangdi Pongen, Eyotso Rhutso and Dongkoi Mercy Lam from Fernwood School Kohima, second prize along with certificates went to Mutsulu Venuh, Vinyuhunuo Dzuvichu and Manshi Rathore from Livingstone Foundation International Higher Secondary School Dimapur while the third prize along with certificates went to Lenni Samuel, Nonya Komyak, Shubham Kumar Singh of Little Star Higher Secondary School Dimapur.
Certificates of participation were also presented to all the student participants.
Quizmaster for the quiz event was divisional forest officer, Kohima Rajkumar M, who is a lifetime member of MENSA, an international high IQ society.
Rajkumar, who is an avid quizzer and a quizmaster has conducted more than 30 quizzes across India in various states.
Earlier in the programme, keynote address was delivered by principal director school education and project director, NEP-The Lighthouse (NECTAR), Shanavas C. and welcome address was delivered by deputy project director, NEP-The Lighthouse (NECTAR), Avelu Ruho
Altogether, 87 students from 29 schools from Kohima, Dimapur, Peren, Wokha and Longleng participated at the event.
