Eastern Nagaland College Students’ Union (ENCSU) has demanded deployment of teaching staff at Aboi Polytechnic, Mon and creation of posts for Wakching New Model College (WNMC), Mon.
In a representation addressed to the commissioner secretary H&TE, the ENCSU president Serichum J Sangtam and general secretary Sanglekhamba C Chang stated that government polytechnic at Aboi was functioning without a single teaching staff, but students were made to join class with other polytechnics through online mode.
Stating that other polytechnic colleges were functioning with smart board and smart class, ENCSU has, however, said that Aboi polytechnic was without any educator, which it described was “a pure form of ‘discrimination’.” Further, ENCSU pointed out Wakching New Model College, which was inaugurated on February 3, 2019, was still lying paralyzed.
The union said several representations had been submitted, but the responsible authority chose to turn a deaf ear to its genuine demand.
In the light of the above, the ENCSU has sought clarification from the directorate and state government as to why Aboi polytechnic was still without a single teaching staff and why were the students made to take admission without a single educator. It also questioned why was post creation for Wakching New Model college still pending?
ENCSU has, therefore, urged the responsible authority to address the matter at the earliest, failing which the union would “be forced to take its own course of action for which the concern authority will be held solely responsible.”
