ZSU observes 62nd general conference

Zhavame Students Union (ZSU) held its 62nd general session on the theme “toward proficiency” at public amphitheatre, Pame Tsüdu Zhavame.

In a press release, ZSU informed that former minister and executive member of SCAN, Nagaland, Deo Nukhu in his speech said that the growth of education was visible in development of the village in different areas.
Emphasising that education did not end with students earning their degrees, he said that it was a lifelong process.
Nukhu impressed upon the gathering that they must continue developing their skills even after their formal education.
He further encouraged students to broaden their horizons while choosing their careers and not just limit themselves to following general trend of getting into government service.
He also urged upon the student body to be a unifying factor in the village and to preserve the environment.
It may be mentioned that Nukhu became the first graduate from Zhavame village in the year 1973 and subsequently taught at a government school in Meluri.
Deo Theodore Dukru Memorial Award which was instituted in 2018 in memory of late Deo Theodore Dukru, ex-headmaster was also presented to Zasi Pohena, teacher, GMS Zhavame.
Earlier, invocation was said by Zhavame Baptist Church pastor, Rev. Akha Shupao, presidential address from Muvi Domeh, greetings by village council chairman, Zao Krocha and benediction was said by Zhavame Christian Revival Church pastor, Dakhru Rhi.
