LCTO organises cultural festival at Leshemi

The Leshemi Cultural & Traditional Organisation (LCTO) held its 9th general session by organising a cultural festival at Leshemi village under Phek district from December 28-29.

Dr. Vikeyie Losou, retired principal director, Health & Family Welfare spoke on the occasion as speaker while medical officer (dental) Chozuba Community Health Centre (CHC), Dr. Neisatuo Mero inaugurated the historical monuments and released the 2nd edition of the Leshemi history book.

LCTO president Neisalie Losou delivered presidential address and Ngulo Lomi, the oldest male of Leshemi was attended as the festival father and invoked blessings. The two-day programme was marked by cultural exhibition, unveiling of festival stone and treaty monolith.

Leshemi community from Leshemi village, Lewoza village, Dimapur unit, Phek unit, Pfutsero unit and Kohima unit also attended the celebration.

It may be mentioned that the cultural festival is celebrated once in every five years to promote and uphold the rich culture and tradition for the younger generation.
