3 receive CM’s Scholarship for Music

State chief minister, Neiphiu Rio on January 7 sent off three recipients (first batch) of the Chief Minister’s Scholarship for Music 2021 to KM Music Conservatory (KMMC), Arumbakkam, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

A press release by Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) informed that the recipients- Vikhietuonuo Rutsa, Binthu Newmai and Vitolu Zhimomi would undergo three months customized professional course.
The release further informed that the Dr.AR Rahman, composer, who is a Grammy Winner and the Academy Award winning Musician, is the founder and Principal of KMMC, Chennai. 
It said the conservatory offers a wide range of part-time and full-time music courses of Hindustani and Western classical and music technology.
TaFMA said that for the Scholarship, open advertisement was invited, offering all empanelled artists to apply and seven applicants qualified to sit for the interview. 
It said the interview board consisting of two members from KMMC and two members from TaFMA recommended four artists. However, due to “unavoidable circumstances” one candidate could not avail the scholarship.
