District Level Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan Committee for Phek organized an awareness programme on alcohol and drug abuse at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba, on June 6, 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Diana Patton, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), urged the community to work together in tackling substance abuse, emphasizing the need to support and guide addicts instead of stigmatizing them.
The programme was moderated by Dr. Cthitu Nienu, Extra Assistant Commissioner, while Lulun Singson, Officer-in-Charge of Police Station, Chozuba, presented an overview of the NDPS Act. While, Velato Nienu, Data Monitoring & Documentation Officer, Disha for HIV and AIDS, NSACS, NACO, delivered a presentation on alcohol and drug abuse, including available treatment options. The event was attended by students from various schools, representatives from frontal civil societies, GBs, and town councillors.
