YMCA-NEIR annual regional council meet concludes

The two-day, 35th Annual Regional Council Meet of Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) North East India Region (NEIR) concluded on June 7 at Livingstone Foundation International, Dimapur. The event was held under the theme “Breaking Barriers and Striving Towards Common Achievements” and featured Shaji James, secretary of hovement Strengthening, National Council of YMCAs of India (NCYI), as the guest of Honour.
Hosted by YMCA Nagaland under the leadership of its president, Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema, who is also the regional chairman of the NEIR Committee, YMCA, the meet brought together officials and delegates from various YMCAs, including Aizawl, Shillong, Dimapur, Nongtalang, Shangpung, Jowai City, and the newly formed Gangtok YMCA (Sikkim). The participants attended leadership and training sessions led by resource persons Udipta Fullonton, former NCYI secretary for Properties & Projects, and Dr. Fr. C.P. Anto, principal of North East Institute of Social Sciences & Research and Director of Peace Channel, Nagaland.
Among the dignitaries present were Dr. R. Lalthangliana (former regional chairman, YMCA-NEIR), Er. K. Lalsawmvela (secretary, Aizawl YMCA), Sandy B. Tariang (vice chairman, YMCA NEIR), Shamir J. Thabah (regional secretary, YMCA NEIR), and several officials from YMCA Nagaland, including advisor Geoffrey Yaden, treasurer Ani Yepthomi, and board members Aochuba Yaden, David Khobung, and Jacob N. Krocha.
The event included business sessions, general meetings, and training discussions on topics such as YMCA’s vision and mission, leadership progress, movement strengthening, and resource mobilization.
