Nsong Area Public Organisation (NAPO) and Chairman Union Tening Block (CUTB) have issued a rejoinder to the press statement with regard to the construction of road from Tening-Lekie under Peren district.
NAPO: In a press note, NAPO president Wangsam expressed shocked and anguished by the statement made by NKPO secretary Deichung Zeme. It also said NKPO held a public held meeting with two of its local legislators at Jalukie Town on February 2, 2022.
NAPO said it wanted to clarify the “false” statement made by NKPO secretary as nothing, as claimed, were discussed by the public to call off the work initiated by Ms. Naagaami Infratech Private Limited.
NAPO, while demanding Deichung to withdraw its statement also demanded apology from Deichung for misleading and propagating false news which was never in their knowledge. Instead, NAPO said the meeting resolved, that such developmental work in the area cannot be called off as the development was for the welfare of the people.
Further, NAPO said it was also aggrieved to see the statement made by Zeliang Students Union (ZLSU) secretary Sanlak Namdau, issued on the pretext of the union as a whole. NAPO asked the secretary on what ground the statement was made questioning the office of the Chief Engineering (R&B) and executive engineer (R&B) Peren. NAPO said the student leader also needed apologize to the office of CE, (R&B) Kohima and E.E.(R&B) Peren, as the statement made by him had nothing to do with the people from the area and was bias and totally against the wishes of the people.
NAPO rather asked Sanlak to study the ground reality to know the facts and not to jump into conclusion, if he was really concerned for the people.
While expressing regret for tarnishing the good image of the office of the ZLSU, NAPO said he should not sow the seeds of confusion among the people, adding that the magnanimity of the ZLSU office cannot be polluted.
Urging people to stop creating confusion in the minds of the people by spreading false news and propaganda, NAPO said its stand was clear, as it had nothing to do with the contractors and tendering process, but to have good road connectivity.
While urging to expedite and provide quality work, NAPO thanked Ms. Naagaami Infratech Private Ltd. for taking up the project, which was the long-felt dream of the people of the area and also extended full cooperation to the executing agency for the successful completion of the project.
CUTB: CUTB president Pelengkeng said that the road construction had nothing to do with any political party, social organisations or any group, but a common property where each individual needed to take active part so that the most needed development work was completed.
As the project has been taken up by Ms. Naagaami Infratech Private Ltd, the union was only of the view that the road needed to be completed at the earliest without compromising the quality.
While thanking the firm for taking up to work and extending its full cooperation, CUTB cautioned that it would not tolerate any individual/group trying to hamper the developmental progress. It therefore called upon the people of the sub-division to be vigilant and to ensure that nothing should to stop the developmental activity.
It also warned that anyone hampering the project would be doing so at their own risk and the union would not be responsible against such individuals or groups.
