DIMAPUR: Condolences continued to pour in from various quarters after the demise of former minister, Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi on February 26.
Dy. CM: Dy chief minister, Y. Patton while mourning the demise of Dr. Kakheto said that the late soul had left a lucrative job to serve the people of Nagaland. As a minister and a social activist, he was an influential leader and admired by everyone, Dy. CM said and added that Dr. Kakhato passing away was a great loss for the society.
Patton on behalf of the state BJP legislators, conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed to rest in peace.
TR Zeliang: Naga People’s Front (NPF) legislature party leader T R Zeliang has mourned the demise of Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi. In a condolence note, Zeliang said he had known Dr. Kakheto since his political days when they were together in the 8th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He described him as sincere and upright gentleman, and his untimely demise left behind a huge vacuum. Zeliang also said that his association with Dr. Kakheto continued when he (Dr. Kakheto) served as the president of WSH. Zeliang further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
Ex-PAN: Ex-Parliamentarian’s Association of Nagaland (Ex-PAN) has also expressed deep grief over the demise of Dr.Kakheto Zhimomi.
In a condolence message, Ex-PAN said that the demise of Dr. Kakheto was not only a loss to his family and the Sumi community but also to the Naga People. The association prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace.
WSTH: Western Sumi Totimi Hoho (WSTH) has expressed grief on the passing away of Dr.Kakheto Zhimomi. In a condolence note, WSTH described Dr.Kakheto as a conscientious and veritable man, who believed in ‘inclusiveness’. The Hoho said that late Dr. Kakheto played a pivotal role to uplift women and broke many gender stereotypes and stood firm for women.
During his time as president of Western Sumi Hoho two women representatives were inducted as executives of WSH. WSTH further conveyed condolences to his loved ones during this hard time and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
ENPUD: Eastern Nagaland People’s Union Dimapur (ENPUD) has expressed deep grief over the demise of late Dr. Kakheto, saying his passing away has created big gap which will be irreplaceable. ENPUD media cell described late Dr. Kakheto as a tall leader who was a sincere and dedicated person. It acknowledged his tireless and selfless effort for the welfare of the Sumi tribe and the Nagas.
NPP state unit: National People’s Party (NPP), Nagaland State unit expressed shock at the sudden demise of Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi and said that in his death, Nagaland in general and the Sumi community in particular have lost a staunch supporter of human rights and dignity of the Naga people.
NPP state unit stated that Dr.Kakheto during his political career in the government of Nagaland not only brought about equitable and inclusive development of Nagaland, but also laid emphasis on bringing the North Eastern region on the map of progress and development. As a people’s leader, NPP unit said late Dr. Kakheto tried his best to uplift the lot of people belonging to all religious groups, communities and tribes. NPP state unit paid homage to the departed soul and also offered condolences to the bereaved family members and relatives.
GPRN/NSCN: The collective leadership of Gen. (Retd.) M.B. Neokpao Konyak, president and N.Kitovi Zhimomi, Ato Kilonser along with all the members of GPRN/NSCN have expressed grief over the sudden demise of Dr. Kakheto Zhimomi. MIP of GPRN/NSCN described the untimely loss of such a great leaders as shocking and heartbreaking.
GPRN/NSCN praised Dr. Kakheto for his outstanding leadership and responsibilities in various capacities in the field of political and social activities, which it said would be cherished in days to come.
It stated that Dr. Kakheto demise was a great loss and will be deeply felt by his community members in particular and the Naga society for whom he had made many remarkable political and social contributions during his lifetime.
KSON: Kuki Students Organisation Nagaland (KSON) has expressed grief over the demise of Dr.Kakheto Zhimo. KSON prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
