DIMAPUR: Zeliang Students’ Union (ZLSU) issued a clarification to its statement published on February 25 with regard to Tening-Lekie road project.
In a press statement, ZLSU media cell stated that it was disgruntled by the long pending court cases and requested all the parties involved to refrain from carrying out any work until the court order was passed.
It also clarified that Zeliang Students’ Union “in no way had the intentions to accuse or blame any individual or party”, however, requested all the parties to execute effective developmental work following the court order.
The union has, therefore reiterated that it was aggrieved due to the long-pending case before the court.
It said that the people of the area awaited with high hopes to commute on a sustainable road since the road was the only lifeline in the area.
It expressed regret over the hindrance faced by way of court cases while on one hand, the people desired speedy disposal of the case which was pending before the court.
The union also called upon all parties “to abstain from any developmental activities during the pendency of the case before the court thus creating rooms for delay tactics and inviting multiple litigations” hampering the Tening-Lekie Road Project under NERSDS.
ZLSU while appraising the matter asked all the parties to honor the Gauhati High Court Bench order dated February 23 and further appealed to the parties involved in the case to settle the matter at the earliest in the interest of the public.
