MMA fighters from The Combat Academy Nagaland shine at Arunachal Open Grappling Tournament

DIMAPUR, JUN 8 (NPN)

Fighters from The Combat Academy Nagaland (TCA) delivered an impressive performance at the Arunachal Open Grappling Tournament (AOGT) held in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, on June 8.
A total of four athletes—Vivoto Tsukru, Sohilo Janch, Imkummendang Ozukum, and Thanmi Angkang—represented TCA in various divisions, securing multiple podium finishes.
In the Advanced category under the 77kg division, Vivoto Tsukru advanced to the semifinals after receiving a walkover in his first bout. Teammate Sohilo Janch also secured a spot in the semifinals after winning his quarterfinal match via armbar submission. Vivoto went on to win the final bout against Nikam Dada of Arunachal via Kimura submission, clinching the gold medal, while Sohilo earned bronze.
Meanwhile, in the Beginners under 64kg category, Imkummendang Ozukum dominated the competition to claim the gold medal.
Vivoto and Sohilo also competed in the Open Weight category, a 32-man tournament, where both reached the semifinals but faced each other in a head-to-head clash. As teammates, Vivoto opted to back out, securing bronze, while Sohilo fought in the final and finished with a silver medal.
In the Professional bout of the main event Super Match, Thanmi Angkang secured victory over David Chhangte of Meghalaya, winning via armbar submission.
