Excise Kohima seize liquor

Excise Kohima check gate party has seized 1200 bottles of assorted Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from the period, October 23-19 at Peducha Excise check gate from different public transports.
According to superintendent of Excise Kohima, I Vikikhe Aomi, the liquor was seized from passenger taxis and private vehicles. He said Peducha check gate was vital to intercept any vehicle carrying banned substances or smuggling liquor/drugs, as all the vehicles have to cross the check gate to either exit the state or enter the hill areas of Nagaland and beyond.
 Aomi informed that the seized liquor has been kept at malkhana of SE Office Kohima and fine has been imposed on the accused persons under the NLTP Act’ 89. He informed that regular checking and frisking would continue to check export and import of banned substances.
The Excise check gate party was led by AIE T Akum and constables – Kiyevi Sema, Keduoneituo, Khruvotso, B Akup, Akho, Penshak, Nungsangsowa, Besnyu and lady constable Lochumi.
