DIMAPUR: NDPP Mokokchung region has issued clarification with regard to present developments within the party set up in the region following the resignation of its 17 office bearers, who announced their resignation from both primary and active membership of the party on April 10.
In a press release, NDPP Mokokchung region president N. Bendang Jamir and general secretary (admn) Repameren stated that with due diligence and conformation to the central office order issued on December 1, 2021 with regard to appointment of office bearers in the region, NDPP Mokokchung region office “has been running smoothly and executing its normal day to day functioning and activities even before and after the unfortunate resignation of its 17 members from the party fold.”
While affirming to stand firmly by the decision taken by NDPP central office with regard to the election of its members, the region office stated that it would continue to uphold the party principles and directives.
It also said that the region office would remain steadfast in its objective to serve the aspirations of the people in the district in the days to come.
It clarified that “this recent development will not have much impact upon the stability and future running and aspirations of the party.” NDPP Mokokchung region office said these developments would rather give an opportunity for “aspiring members who are eager and willing to take up greater responsibilities and roles” but has been unable to do so in the past.
It further stated that this would open up a pathway for younger generation to step into the political fold and partake in the affairs of the party.
