The two-day Wokha District Inter-Departmental Badminton and Table Tennis Open championship 2022 organized by Wokha District Sports Council in collaboration with Wokha District Badminton Association (WDBA) & Wokha District Table Tennis Association started on April 13 at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Wokha.
According to DIPR report, the opening ceremony was graced by Dr. Chumben Murry, MLA as special guest.
Murry encouraged young people to take up sports as a profession as central government as well as the State government was taking a keen interest in building up the capacity for the sportspersons.
He further urged all the participants to take part in the tournament in the true spirit of the game and declared the championship open.
The function was chaired by DSO Wokha, K. Libemo Jami, while president WDBA Dr. Jonsuthung Kithan delivered the welcome address, and PIS, DSO Wokha administered the oath-taking.
