The two-day World Art Day organised by Task Force for Music and Arts (TaFMA) in collaboration with visual artists of Nagaland concluded in Kohima at Old NST, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the valedictory programme, TaFMA advisor, Theja Meru pointed out that art sector in the State was witnessing an upward trend recently.
While encouraging the local artists to take pride in the passion, he urged them to be passionate and love their work saying art gave color and value to life.
He also observed that the demand for innovative content had spiked in the post Covid world including Nagaland.
He disclosed that art worth more than Rs 3 crore was sold during the lockdown period, which, he said was a remarkable achievement. He expressed his appreciation to all the participants including the students in the two day fest.
Meru assured that TaFMA would continue to support the artists and help them out in every way possible. In the art competition (kids’ category) held during the fest, Tsentsüthung, a class 10 student of Mezhür Higher Secondary School emerged as the winner while Kehwayhun Khing, class 2 student from Grace Higher Secondary School and Katimenla, class 6 from Bethel Higher Secondary school were placed in the second and third positions respectively.
