DIMAPUR: Department of History and Political Science of Immanuel College (IMC) jointly organised a cultural programme on the theme “Revisiting the Roots”, on April 11 in the college auditorium hall.
In a press release, IMC media cell informed that HoD Political Science, Talichuba Walling highlighted the objective of the programme.
Stating that Nagas were admired for their rich repertory of folk dances and songs, Talichuba said the programme was organised keeping this mind.
He said the programme saw an inter-tribal cultural interaction where various tribes were brought under one umbrella.
During the programme, students presented vibrant cultural items of various tribes which included cultural dances, a play called “Kongliang”, folk songs and a drama with colourful attires.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor, department of History, D. Sophia Besa and vote of thanks was proposed by dean & assistant professor, department of Political Science, Loli Athisi.
