Kohima, Tseminyu play friendly match

A friendly football match was played between District Football Associations of Kohima and Tseminyu at Indira Gandhi Stadium, here on Thursday.
The match, played to strengthen brotherhood and promote unity among the two districts, was a precursor to the upcoming Dr. T Ao Trophy 2022 scheduled from April 18-29, to be hosted by Mokokchung district.
Football Association of Tseminyu District (FATD) was recently formed and is one of the newest teams alongside Chümoukedima, Niuland and Shamator districts and the upcoming trophy would be their maiden inning joining the other 12 districts.
FATD team manager, Chenonlo Woch, expressed appreciation towards KDFA for the constant support rendered to the team which earlier was a part of the latter.
He observed that FATD players had benefitted greatly through KDFA and he hoped that the camaraderie shared between the two teams would continue to grow although they now have stemmed out to form two teams.
Meanwhile ahead of the match KDFA president, Matthew Yhome, exhorted the players urging them to display their best performances without causing any injury to one another.
He called on them to be disciplined and strive to exhibit a spirit of sportsmanship in their gameplay.
The friendly match ended with a score of 3-1 in favour of KDFA.
