NLA deputy speaker, T. Yangseo Sangtam inaugurated the newly constructed black topping road (1.6km) from National Highway 202 to local ground Kiphire Village on April 13.
The road was constructed through LADP scheme during 2021-22.
Addressing the gathering, Yangseo said black topping road of Kiphire Village was a long-awaited dreams and people aspiration for several decades.
He therefore designated the road as “People’s Road” and further sought cooperation and support from the public to maintain the road and drainage. “As a stake-holder of the district every citizen is equally responsible to maintain peace and tranquillity in the district”, he added.
He also acknowledged chief minister for having trust and confidence by elevating him as Dy. Speaker. The programme was attended by various civil societies, NGOs, church leaders, students’ organisations and party leaders.
