SASU raises concern over April 11 incident

Following the April 11 incident where a private bus ferrying students of St. Joseph’s College met with an accident, Southern Angami Students Union (SASU) expressed concern over reckless driving of drivers carrying students and also private buses that ply on the national highway.
In a press note, SASU said it had witnessed several such incidents of reckless driving. Taking note of the April 11 incident, SASU such rash and negligent driving not only puts the life of students at stake, but also the villagers who commute returning from fields, and the public in general.
In this regard, SASU asked college buses and private buses carrying students to drive at a speed limit of 40 kmph, and all the drivers, both college/school buses plying along Southern Angami area to adhere strictly to this notification for the safety of all.
It warned of strict action if such incidents occur in the future, where both the driver and the owner would be held liable for any casualties, adding that SASU would also take its own course of action.
SASU further informed if any students found any college or school bus driver under the influence on duty hours, one could contact SASU executives at 9612161313/8731896457.
