Department of Food and Civil Supplies (F&CS) commemorated “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” by celebrating “anna yojana and public distribution system” on April 12 at CPO Hall, Chümoukedima.
In a press release, the department informed that in a brief report on Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY), deputy director F&CS, I. Anungba Sanglir said “anna yojana and public distribution system” under “azadi ka amrit mahotsav” was an initiative of the government of India to celebrate and commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.
He added that, the department of F&CS was focused on the successful implementation of PMGKAY, which is an additional allocation of food grains to all the beneficiaries covered under Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS) free of cost.
Sanglir also pointed out that during the first and second country-wide lockdown, the staff of F&CS department rendered their service to the people of the state and while on the line of duty some of the staffs even lost their life to covid-19.
Special guest of the programme, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Chümoukedima, Dr. Kuzonyi Wideo congratulated the state government and the department of F&CS for prompt and timely implementation of the PMGKAY scheme.
A short speech was also delivered by divisional manager, Dimapur, P Vanlalpak K Gante and the programme concluded with vote of thanks by Sr. Inspector of Supplies, Dimapur, Ilitemsu.
