Government of India (GoI) and GPRN/NSCN on Tuesday have extended ceasefire agreement for another year with effect from April 28, 2022.
GPRN/NSCN through its MIP stated that ceasefire agreement was mutually extended to bring about lasting peace in the state with the involvement of Naga people.
MIP informed that ceasefire extension was subjected to adherence to Ceasefire Ground Rules (CFGR) as has been mutually agreed and signed by both the parties. It stated that the CFGR would be subjected to mutual review and amendment with the involvement of both the parties in case the need arises.
GPRN/NSCN was represented by CFSB supervisor, Nitovi Aye and CFSB secretary Akato Yeptho and Government of India was represented by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) additional secretary, Piyush Goyal.
